Gorakhpur: Giving a major boost to industrial growth and MSME development in eastern Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the state’s second flatted factory complex at the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) on June 3.Built at a cost of Rs 42.5 crore in Sector-13, the plug-and-play facility has been designed to accommodate 80 MSME units and is expected to generate direct employment for around 1,000 people. The project is aimed at promoting sectors such as ready-made garments, information technology and pharmaceuticals.According to GIDA chief executive officer Anuj Malik, entrepreneurs will be able to begin operations immediately after allotment as essential industrial infrastructure has already been provided. Spread over 10,860 square metres, the complex comprises a G+3 industrial block with 80 units and a utility block housing facilities such as banks, warehouses and sales showrooms. The project is the second such facility in Uttar Pradesh after the flatted factory complex established in Kanpur.During his visit, the CM will also inaugurate a residential complex in Sector-11 comprising 96 flats—48 each under the EWS and LIG categories—for workers employed in GIDA units. Developed at a cost of Rs 18.54 crore, the project received a subsidy of Rs 11.02 crore. Yogi will also inaugurate/ lay foundation for 71 infrastructure projects worth nearly Rs 208 crore, including roads, drainage, power, sewage and waste-management works across GIDA sectors.
