Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Friday announced a higher govt hiring target of 1.25 lakh posts in the next financial year, along with a Rs 150 increase in social security pensions, while replying to the debate on the Finance & Appropriation Bill in the Rajasthan Assembly.Sharma said a recruitment calendar for 1.25 lakh government posts will be released, raising the earlier target of 1 lakh. He said the govt is currently conducting recruitment for over 1.43 lakh posts and has already provided more than 1 lakh govt appointments. He also claimed more than 2 lakh employment opportunities were created in the private sector.For beneficiaries including specially abled persons, single women, elderly citizens, and small and marginal farmers, Sharma announced a Rs 150 hike in social security pensions, taking the monthly amount to Rs 1,450.He announced the renaming of Mount Abu to Abu Raj, Jahazpur to Yagyapur, and Kaman to Kam Van. To address Jaipur traffic congestion, he said a detailed project report will be prepared for a 36-kilometre elevated road along the Dravyavati river.Under the Rajasthan Senior Accredited Journalist Honour Scheme, pension for accredited journalists above 60 years will rise from Rs 15,000 to Rs 18,000 per month, and for widows of deceased accredited journalists from Rs 7,500 to Rs 9,000. He proposed a Rajasthan Housing Board residential scheme for journalists in Jaipur and a Vidhayak Awas Yojana for MLAs.Sharma said MLAs’ salaries would be linked to dearness allowance from the next financial year and that all MLAs will be provided mobile tablets. He also announced that Atal Bihari Vajpayee Global Centre for Advanced Skilling will be established in Jaipur at a cost of Rs 450 crore. He announced Rs 4,000 crore for the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), wheat procurement at Rs 2,735 per quintal with a Rs 150 bonus over MSP, and a 10% honorarium increase for Anganwadi workers, helpers, Mid-Day Meal cooks, and local body representatives. He also announced a Cow Service Policy, 2026, 3,000 government employee flats on the NBCC pattern, extra road funding, more transport permits and buses, new skilling hubs, tribal welfare measures, 1,000 Atal Gyan Kendras, an AI and Quantum Computing Mission, and retrospective promotion reservation for divyang employees from June 30, 2016.
