The chief minister launched the ‘Seva, Sushasan evam Samarpan: Jan-Jan ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan ke Dwar’ programme in Rishikesh.
Dhami said he was given the opportunity to serve Uttarakhand five years ago and that his government’s journey since then has been guided by the principles of public service, good governance and dedication.
“This milestone is not merely an occasion for celebration, but a moment to further strengthen our unwavering resolve to make Uttarakhand the best state,” he said.
The chief minister also vowed to make Uttarakhand a developed state by 2035.
“Our goal is not just to complete a term in office; rather, we aim to build a harmonious and self-reliant Uttarakhand. We are working towards the objective of transforming Uttarakhand into a fully developed state by 2035,” Dhami added.
With this aim in mind, he said special emphasis is being laid on the development of infrastructure, education, healthcare, drinking water facilities, roads, agriculture, tourism, industry, investment, self-employment, and border areas.State Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Gurmit Singh was also present on the occasion.
Dhami had first assumed the office of as Uttarakhand’s chief minister on July 4, 2021, following the resignation of Tirath Singh Rawat.
He took charge of the state again after the BJP’s victory in the 2022 assembly elections.
The chief minister expressed gratitude for the support and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and stated that the trust, affection, and blessings of the people of the state constitute his greatest strength.
He enumerated the various schemes and achievements of his government, stating that these accomplishments are not merely awards but proof that Uttarakhand is advancing steadily and rapidly on the journey towards a developed India.
Dhami expressed pride that his government, rising above politics, took historic decisions that previous governments lacked the courage to undertake.
In this context, he cited the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, the abolition of the Madrasa Board and the foundation laying of Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority, as well as the enactment of the country’s strictest anti-conversion and anti-cheating laws.
On this occasion, the governor and the chief minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 51 development projects worth over 219 crore for Dehradun district.
