Shimla: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday inaugurated a ‘Digital Museum’ at Bantony, Shimla, aimed at preserving and promoting the state’s rich cultural and historical heritage through modern technology.Describing the museum as a bridge between the past and the future, the CM said it marked a new era in heritage conservation and global promotion of the state’s legacy. Equipped with advanced technologies such as 3D scanning, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), interactive timelines and immersive storytelling, the museum offers visitors an engaging experience of Himachal Pradesh’s folk traditions, handicrafts, spiritual heritage and freedom movement.The museum also traces Shimla’s transformation into a historic city while highlighting the Kalka-Shimla railway, the state’s journey since its formation, prominent personalities, art, culture and culinary traditions.
