Shimla: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday directed officials to restore vehicular traffic on the Janglik road in Rohru assembly constituency of Shimla district within 10 days.Sukhu issued the directions during his visit to the Tangnu-Janglik panchayat area, where he inspected the road blocked by a recent landslide and reviewed the situation.He said the road closure caused considerable inconvenience to residents and horticulturists, and directed officials to expedite restoration work.The CM also announced an additional Rs 4 crore to speed up construction of the under-construction Janglik bridge. He announced another Rs 2 crore for the landslide-affected area of Thaintwadi village.Sukhu said govt was committed to restoring normalcy in the disaster-hit areas and ensuring timely relief and essential facilities for affected people.The CM stayed overnight on Thursday at Bhatwari village in the Rohru assembly constituency under the state govt’s ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme.During his visit, Sukhu interacted with villagers, listened to their grievances and directed officials to ensure their speedy redressal. He announced Rs 5 lakh each for Mahila Mandals and Rs 20 lakh for the Chingwari road.Sukhu also assured that the Barshil bridge would be made motorable and sanctioned Rs 5 lakh for the Pekha-Diudi Mahila Mandal building. He further announced that Dhamwari school would be affiliated with the CBSE board.Sukhu stayed at the residence of Diudi panchayat pradhan Prashan Lal. Villagers welcomed him with traditional Laman folk songs and Nati, a dance form, and served local delicacies, including kode ki roti (finger millet bread), red rice, and rajma (kidney beans).
