Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday approved the release of a six-month honorarium for sarpanches and naib sarpanches serving as elected representatives at the village panchayat level across the state. An amount of Rs 56.56 crore has been sanctioned for the payment. The honorarium will cover the period from April 1, 2026, to Sept 30, 2026. Under the approved provision, each sarpanch will receive Rs 10,000, while each naib sarpanch will be paid Rs 4,000.
