Ahmedabad: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate showers in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, with generally cloudy skies expected to prevail across the city.The city witnessed a sharp dip in daytime temperatures on Monday amid persistent rain. The maximum temperature settled at 26.7°C, which was 6.9 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 24.4°C, 0.6 degrees below normal. Relative humidity remained high, exceeding 97% during the day.According to the IMD’s state forecast, isolated places in Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Morbi, Devbhoomi Dwarka and Kutch are likely to receive heavy rainfall. Most other districts of Gujarat may experience light to moderate showers.Weather department indicated that rainfall intensity is likely to decrease from Wednesday onwards.An IMD bulletin attributed the ongoing rainfall activity to a monsoon through, and a cyclonic circulation prevailing over and around the region.
