LUCKNOW: A Class 2 student died after suddenly falling ill inside her classroom at Divine Public School in Balrampur while a religious immersion procession playing loud DJ music was passing outside the school.The girl’s family claimed that the intense sound and vibrations triggered her medical distress, though police said the exact cause of death would be established only after investigation and medical findings.The incident occurred around 11am on Monday when the daughter of Sonu Tiwari alias Jeetu was attending class on the first floor of the school.A three-minute-and-two-second CCTV clip from the school has emerged following the incident.According to the school, the footage shows children reacting as loud music from an immersion procession could be heard outside. Some students moved towards the windows and door, while the girl appeared to become uncomfortable.The family claimed that the child suffered three episodes described by them as “attacks”, with her condition deteriorating sharply after the third. They alleged that the high-decibel DJ music and heavy vibrations caused a cardiac episode that led to her death.The claim, however, is yet to be medically established.Teachers Ikra Khan and Pammi Mishra, a teacher and coordinator at the school, said the DJ music was so loud that windowpanes were vibrating.“Some children got up and started dancing because of the DJ music. We then noticed that one student was in distress. A teacher immediately attended to her and we brought her downstairs. She was rushed to the hospital emergency, but she had died. We then informed her parents,” the teachers said.School manager Ashish Upadhyay confirmed that the incident had been captured by CCTV cameras and claimed that the DJ accompanying the procession was being played at an extremely high volume.Police have launched an investigation and are examining the circumstances surrounding the child’s death, including the CCTV footage.CO City Abhishek Singh said it would be premature to conclude that the DJ sound caused the death. Police are investigating whether the child died due to the impact of loud sound or whether there was an underlying medical reason.Superintendent of police Martand Prakash Singh has directed that the matter be investigated impartially and said appropriate legal action would be taken on the basis of the findings.
