Gurgaon: A 16-year-old boy was found dead at his home in Faridabad on Saturday. The family found the Class 11 student’s body in a room behind the house, police said.Alfaz, a resident of Khori Jamalpur village, had been missing for two days. His family said he left home for school around 8am on Aug 20 but did not return. They contacted the school and his friends and learnt that he had not attended classes that day. The family circulated information about his disappearance on social media.According to the family, around 9am on Aug 22, a family member found the room behind the house locked from inside. After repeated calls went unanswered, they broke open the door and found Alfaz dead.His family said Alfaz had been struggling after opting for the science stream in Class 11. His parents wanted him to choose arts or commerce, but he wanted to pursue medicine and was admitted to the science stream.Alfaz’s father, farmer Hidayat Khan, said he later found the subjects difficult, spoke several times about quitting his studies and frequently skipped school. The family had advised him to complete Class 11 and consider changing subjects in Class 12.Alfaz is survived by his father, mother and elder brother Rahul (25), who works for a private firm in Faridabad.According to the family, Alfaz may have returned home sometime during the night of Aug 21, but they did not realise that he had come back.Police were informed and reached the spot. SHO Anil Kumar said the body was sent for an autopsy at ESI Medical College and Hospital and was later handed over to the family.Police are probing the circumstances surrounding the death and are questioning Alfaz’s family members and school friends.
