“This fight is not going to be easy. I appeal to everyone across the country to join us, book train and flight tickets,” CJP co-convener Saurav Das told media persons here. He added that the protest will continue even after Kumar resigns, until the electoral system is overhauled.
Apart from CJP members, AISA president Neha Bora, and members of other student organisations such as SFI and AISF were present at the press meet. Backing INDIA bloc, they said the fight was between BJP and those fighting to save democracy.
“There are no divisions. We, the people of India, versus BJP. If we lead this fight unitedly, we will do it effectively. The elected representatives have a duty to take to the streets to raise people’s issues and defend their rights,” AISA president Neha Bora told media persons.
This projection of unity comes days after online sparring between CJP and sections aligned with Congress.
Das said that Delhi Police has been informed about their protest on October 10.
