Wardha: The Goras Bhandar Bachav Nagari Samiti has demanded that the administration immediately revoke its orders imposing restrictions on Goras Bhandar operations. The samiti urged the govt to issue orders allowing Goras Bhandar to restart its production, distribution and sales centres. In a memorandum submitted to the district collector, the committee stated that Goras Bhandar, functioning since 1938, is an important institution in Wardha’s cooperative movement and serves as a link between farmers, employees, distributors and consumers. The committee claimed that administrative action was taken without prior notice and adequate opportunity for carrying out corrective measures. It further added that the disruption in production and sales operations has affected the livelihoods of farmers, workers, and distributors, while also impacting the local economy. The samiti has urged the administration to provide reasonable time for complying with regulations. It also demanded that any further action should be taken only after discussions with all concerned stakeholders.Expressing hope for a positive decision, the committee said Goras Bhandar is an institution with a legacy of nearly a century and its operations should be restored at the earliest.
