Lucknow: City made all preparations for large-scale International Yoga Day celebrations on Sunday, with events across parks, institutions and residential areas.On Saturday, Lucknow Development Authority had made arrangements to organise yoga programmes and morning entry to its 12 parks, while Lucknow Municipal Corporation’s yoga sessions in 2,200 parks are ready to facilitate around 1 lakh participants.Resident Welfare Associations in areas such as Gomtinagar, Para, Gomtinagar Extension and Thakurganj were also prepared to conduct sessions with around 10,000 participants.The main district-level programme is planned at the Residency from 6 am to 8 am, to be attended by deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak. A women-only yoga session at Jan Bhavan was likely to be led by governor Anandiben Patel.Lucknow University planned its programme 6.30 am onwards, while BBAU’s event begins at 6 am. Regional Science City has arranged for a live yoga session and expert lectures from 6.30 am.LMC’s mass yoga session 6 am onwards at Jhandi Raj Park in Lalbagh is being led by Mayor Sushma Kharkwal and attended by corporators, officials and employees.Doctors and staff at institutions including KGMU, RMLIMS, SGPGIMS and district hospitals are also participating in the global event. Max Super Speciality Hospital planned the yoga session from 5 am to 8 am, clubbing it with free health screenings. Lohia Park in Gomti Nagar is the venue for ‘The Times of Yoga’ event from 6 am.
