Howrah: Two days after the shooting in Howrah’s Pilkhana, where promoter Shafiq Khan was killed, CID has taken over the probe. Cops on Friday circulated photos and digital renditions — including in various disguises — of accused Harun Khan and his associate Rafakat, alias Rohit Hossain, among every airport and police station in the country, as well as border areas. Four teams from Howrah City Police were also dispatched to Mumbai, Bihar, Hyderabad and Delhi. Vijay Prasad, a member of Harun’s gang, was arrested for attacking and robbing migrant workers Astik Mahato and Bibek Mahato near Howrah station on Friday. The three men arrested on Thursday said one of Shafiq’s aides had duped Harun’s aide of Rs 2.5 lakh. When Shafiq refused to help recover the money, Harun plotted revenge.
