Goa Congress President Girish Chodankar on Thursday demanded that the Director General of Police publicly disclose the status of the investigation into the alleged cash-for-job scam, which he said shook the confidence of thousands of unemployed youth and their families.“As the senior-most police officer, the DGP has a constitutional and moral responsibility to ensure that the investigation proceeds fearlessly and without political interference.” said Chodanakar. He said that since the job scam broke out more than a year ago, there were many unanswered questions about the scam, which police were yet to respond to.“People of Goa has a right to know if investigation has been progressed? How many people have been questioned? “ Chodankar said. The job scam, Chodankar said, was not merely a case of corruption but a direct assault on the aspirations of Goa’s youth.“Many families may have sacrificed their hard-earned savings in the hope of securing employment for their children,” he said.
