T’puram: A bar employee was attacked and injured following a dispute over the quantity of chicken curry served at a bar near the bypass in Vizhinjam. Police arrested two men in connection with the incident. The accused were identified as Shafi, 30, and Yaseen, 25, of Kovalam. According to Thiruvallam police, the altercation broke out after the accused allegedly objected to the quantity of chicken curry served to them. The argument soon escalated into violence, during which a bar employee was assaulted and sustained injuries. The injured employee was rushed to hospital and is reported to be out of danger. Following a complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation, leading to the arrest of the two accused. Thiruvallam SHO Biju said Shafi is a history-sheeter with several criminal cases registered against him and is included in the station’s rowdy list. The accused were produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody. Police said further investigation is under way.
