Amravati: Melghat Regional Forest Division has launched a guided nature trail to Chichati waterfall in Ghatang range, attracting over 600 tourists within two weeks and providing employment to 20 local youth.Launched on July 25, the 4-km trail from Chichati village to the waterfall was started in response to demand from nature lovers and to create livelihood opportunities for villagers. It is managed by the Joint Forest Management Committee, Chichati, under a Gram Sabha resolution, and with guidance from the forest department.Tourists have to register with the committee and are accompanied by trained local guides. The fee is ₹200 per person, while residents of Dharni and Chikhaldara talukas get a concession and pay only ₹100. The fee includes the guide’s remuneration.Forest officials have urged all the nature enthusiasts to visit this trail.
