Chatra: A truck driver engaged in coal transportation at Shivpur Siding under Tandwa police station limits in Chatra district died after the tyre in his vehicle burst on Thursday evening, following the intervention of Tandwa police station in-charge Pappu Sharma, the outsourcing company of CCL agreed to provide a one-time compensation of Rs 4 lakh post which the blockade was lifted around 11 am. Sharma said, “Police took custody of the body, conducted a post-mortem examination and handed over it to the family.”The deceased was identified as Santosh Yadav (34), a resident of Katkamsandi block in Hazaribag district. He was employed in transporting coal from the Amrapali project to Shivpur Siding. The administration reportedly offered Rs 1 lakh in immediate assistance and assured support from the company for the education of the deceased’s children for the next eight years. The family also sought a lump-sum compensation of Rs 20 lakh but later settled for different amount.
