Patna: Governor-cum-chancellor of state universities Syed Ata Hasnain reviewed the functioning of Patliputra University (PPU) during a high-level meeting with the vice-chancellor Upendra Prasad Singh and other senior officials at Lok Bhawan here on Saturday.During the meeting, the chancellor expressed satisfaction with the smooth functioning of the Samarth portal, through which the university has initiated the admission process this year. Appreciating the university administration, the chancellor said the successful implementation of the digital admission system reflected the university’s commitment to transparency and efficiency, said PPU registrar Abu Bakar.According to the registrar, the chancellor also lauded the university for keeping all examinations up to date and ensuring the timely publication of results. “He praised the university for successfully introducing the new curriculum framework in line with the national education policy (NEP)-2020 as well as streamlining academic activities at the university and college level under the semester based UG four-year choice based credit system (CBCS) programme,” Bakar said, adding that the chancellor stressed on the need of maintaining a uniformity in admission and examination schedule for all universities in the state.In recognition to the effective implementation of the Samarth portal in the university, the chancellor announced a cash reward of Rs 10,000 for the PPU nodal officer of the Samrath portal Shambhu Kumar, as a role model for other universities in the state.The PPU team attending the review meeting included examination controller Manoj Kumar, finance officer Subodh Kumar Verma, finance advisor and principal of TPS College Tapan Kumar Shandilya and J D Women’s College principal Meera Kumari, among other officials.
