JAIPUR: A 24-year-old man was critically injured after a speeding Thar allegedly hit his scooter and dragged him for around 15 feet in Raja Park late Tuesday night. The driver fled the spot after the crash.The accident occurred around 12:30am on Uday Marg in the Jawahar Nagar police station area. Vijay Paswan, son of Premchand, was crossing an intersection on his scooter when the black Thar allegedly rammed into him. CCTV footage of the crash has surfaced.Police rushed Vijay to SMS Hospital, where he was placed on a ventilator after suffering injuries to his head, shoulder and hand, SHO Sarla Yadav said.Vijay works at Chicken Hunt in Adarsh Nagar and was heading to Jawahar Nagar Tila No. 7 to deliver food to friends when the accident occurred, police said. His damaged scooter was taken to the police station.Police are examining CCTV footage from roads around the accident site to identify the SUV and trace its driver.Vijay’s cousin Mahesh Kumar said he is from Uttar Pradesh and moved to Jaipur about three years ago. He lives and works at the eatery and is the sole earning member of his family, which includes his parents and three sisters.
