Kanpur: An ambulance returning to Varanasi after discharging a patient from Medanta Hospital in Haryana rammed into a container on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Kannauj district late Saturday, leaving its driver dead on the spot and four passengers seriously injured.The accident occurred at kilometre 192 of the expressway in the Tirwa Kotwali area when the speeding vehicle hit a container moving ahead.Police and the expressway rescue team reached the spot after receiving information about the accident. Panaji: The Goa Industries Development Corporation (GIDC) has decided to hand over Rs 8.36 crore to the directorate of industries, trade and commerce (DITC) as transfer of house tax collected for industrial units. The funds will then be distributed to village panchayats and municipal bodies under which the industrial estates fall.
