Aizawl: Security personnel seized an illegal firearm and ammunition during a joint operation by the Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police at Tuikhuahtlang in Aizawl on Wednesday.Officials said the operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs regarding the illegal possession of arms and ammunition in the area.During the search operation, the security forces recovered one .32 mm pistol, five live rounds of ammunition and 16 spent cartridge cases.One person, a non-tribal, was detained, the officials said.
