Bathinda: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested an inspector posted at Cooperative Society, Tapa, Barnala district, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. A VB spokesperson said Harsh Bansal allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh to clear pending retirement dues of Jang Singh, a former co-operative society secretary. The deal was settled at Rs 50,000. Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh govt has cleared subsidies ranging from 40% to 60% for fisheries-related projects, positioning the sector as a key contributor to its Viksit UP-2047 development vision.
