Udupi: An 80-year-old man died after being hit by a speeding car on the Mangaluru–Udupi National Highway on Thursday. The victim, identified as Harinarayana Rao, was walking along the roadside near the Kothalakatte autorickshaw stand at 10.10am when the incident occurred. Police said a car traveling from Mangaluru towards Udupi, driven recklessly by Sushith S Bolar, rammed Rao.The severe impact left Rao with critical injuries to his head and legs.
