Chandigarh: Haryana Human Rights Commission on Wednesday took suo motu cognisance of the National Crime Records Bureau’s Crime in India-2024 report mentioning the state recorded the highest crime rate against children in the country.A full bench comprising chairperson Justice Lalit Batra, member (judicial) Kuldip Jain and member Deep Bhatia observed that 7,547 cases of crimes against children were registered in Haryana in 2024, marking a 17.9% increase over 2023. Kolkata: Former Trinamool MLA and actor Soham Chakraborty said he contacted BJP MLA Roopa Ganguly after receiving death threats from a producer, Tarun Das, in a dispute over money.
