Gandhinagar: Industrial projects worth Rs 2,999 crore were approved by state govt under the Industrial Policy 2015 on Monday. The projects were approved at a meeting chaired by deputy chief minister Harsh Sanghavi in Gandhinagar.An official statement said that the policy has so far attracted investments worth Rs 1,48,366 crore and has generated direct employment of 1.65 lakh jobs. Guwahati: Assam health minister Ashok Singhal told the assembly on Monday that doctors could not be “produced in factories” but only through medical colleges, amid concerns over a shortage of doctors in the state.Singhal said more than 4,000 doctors are currently serving in govt hospitals across the state and said expanding medical education is the only long-term solution. Shimla: The police have registered two separate cases under the NDPS Act following a major operation against illegal cannabis cultivation in Dodra Kwar area of Rohru region. In the first case, police found 1,550 cannabis plants growing on a land allegedly in the possession ofone Surya Dev of Dhandrawadi village. While 1,530 plants were destroyed, the remaining plants were seized for evidence.
