Ludhiana: A domestic helper masterminded a targeted robbery at a prominent builder’s house in Rajguru Nagar, stealing cash and gold. Police have arrested the mastermind and one accomplice from Delhi, while two other co-accused managed to cross the Nepal border with the stolen valuables.The incident took place while the home owner, Rajinder Singh Dhawan, was in Thailand with his family. The house was left under the supervision of a driver and three domestic helpers. Taking advantage of the family’s absence, the mastermind deliberately left a window unlocked to allow her aides easy access to the premises.Once inside, the intruders threatened the remaining staff and held them captive to execute the heist. The mastermind, Rekha, is a Nepal national who had been working as a child caretaker for family since four years.While Rekha was arrested locally, another accomplice named Hemal was intercepted and detained by a police team in Delhi. Intelligence inputs indicate that the remaining two suspects managed to cross over into Nepal with the entire cache of stolen cash and gold.Following the arrests, police confirmed that the victims had completely bypassed standard security protocols before employing the main accused. Investigators stated that the official police verification of the domestic help was not done by the employer’s family.
