New Delhi: The body of a 40-year-old cab driver, Dinesh Shukla, was found inside his car in Dwarka Wednesday. Police suspect he may have died of suffocation, as the vehicle’s windows were rolled up and there were no signs of robbery or assault.Investigators said the driver had travelled from Agra to drop a passenger in Gurgaon Tuesday. After completing the trip, he left the area. His cab was later found parked on the roadside after a passerby alerted police that it had been stationary there for nearly two days. The deceased was a resident of Kanpur. Police contacted the cab owner, who said Shukla had transferred the fare collected from the trip after completing the ride. That was the last time the owner spoke to him.Police are investigating whether the car’s air conditioner had remained switched on, which may have contributed to the suspected suffocation. The exact cause of death will be ascertained after the post-mortem examination.
