Jaipur: A delegation of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Jaipur branch, Wednesday submitted a memorandum to police commissioner Sachin Mittal, seeking immediate arrest of those involved in the alleged attempted kidnapping of chartered accountant Rajiv Gupta.As per the memorandum, Gupta was allegedly targeted by unidentified persons at Central Park on Sept 10. He managed to escape and lodged a complaint at Ashok Nagar police station. The ICAI said no concrete breakthrough had been made in the case even six days after the incident, causing concern among members of the CA community.The delegation sought formation of a special investigation team to speed up the probe. It also demanded increased police patrolling in commercial and business areas, particularly after the alleged incident took place during the day at Central Park. The ICAI also urged police to ensure the safety of Gupta and his family.The delegation warned that if concrete action was not taken soon, members would approach higher authorities through peaceful means.
