Nagpur: Lakadganj Police registered a cheating case against two for allegedly duping a businessman of over ₹1.13 crore by promising a lucrative school uniform and bag supply contract from the West Bengal govt.The complainant, Niranj Khemka (37), a paper trader and notebook manufacturer from Wardhaman Nagar, was approached by his friend Sanjay Sharma from West Bengal. Sharma introduced him to Sheikh Hussain and Subhashit Sinha. Sharma claimed Sinha was a senior West Bengal govt official handling such contracts. Starting from January 2, 2023, Khemka transferred amounts totalling to ₹1.13 crore in the account mentioned by the fraudsters expecting to get the contract.
