Vadodara: A 534-metre-long foot over bridge equipped with travelators, direct connectivity with the existing railway station and the GSRTC central bus depot, and dedicated facilities for passengers will be among the key features of the upcoming Vadodara Bullet Train station.The station, being constructed above platform No. 7 of Vadodara Railway Station, is designed to integrate high-speed rail with the existing railways network and the city’s public transport system. Its strategic location will allow passengers to switch between the Bullet Train, Western Railway services and intercity buses with minimal walking and easier access, the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited(NHSRCL) said in a press release on Thursday.The station will have three foot over bridges (FOBs) to facilitate passenger movement. FOB 1, measuring 534 m, will connect the Bullet Train station with Vadodara railway station and the GSRTC central bus depot. Travelators will be installed on the bridge to make the interchange more convenient, particularly for passengers carrying luggage.The 90-m FOB 2 will connect the Bullet Train station with the Alkapuri side, crossing over the railway tracks. A 51-m FOB 3 will provide access to the station’s parking area and plaza, with lifts and escalators planned for passenger convenience, NHRCL said.The station will also have comfortable waiting areas, restrooms and retail facilities, along with dedicated pick-up and drop-off zones. Separate parking facilities for cars, buses and autorickshaws will be provided. A modern station plaza with passenger waiting areas, landscaping and clear wayfinding is also planned.
