Hyderabad: BRS spokesperson Manne Krishank alleged lack of transparency in the valuation of public assets and demanded that the Congress govt explain the reported use of 817 acres of valuable govt land as security to raise approximately ₹10,000 crore. He asked the govt to disclose the process followed to identify and pledge the land, along with the details of the agreements and govt approvals involved. He also questioned which agency had valued the land, why the valuation reports had not been made public, and how the HMDA intended to utilise the funds. Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan on Friday, Krishank called on the govt to disclose details of the transactions, the land valuation and the agreements under which the land was reportedly pledged. He said the public deserved clarity on govt decisions involving land in areas including Hitec City, Miyapur, Shankarpally, Patancheru, Hayathnagar and Jawaharnagar.Krishank questioned whether it was reasonable to value land in some of Hyderabad’s most valuable areas at approximately ₹15 crore per acre. Citing documents available to him, he said the parcels had been assigned an aggregate market value of approximately ₹12,818 crore. He urged the govt to release the valuation reports and explain how the figures were determined stating that 817 acres in areas such as Izzatnagar, Mokila, Hitec City and other places were undervalued and planning to auction later.Referring to information indicating that HMDA-related bank balances had risen from approximately ₹275 crore as of 31 March 2026 to around ₹10,000 crore as of 30 June 2026. He demanded that the govt to clarify the source of these funds and publish the agreements and valuation reports connected with the reported fundraising.“Why should Telangana’s public assets be pledged without the people being informed? What is the value of the land, how much has been raised against it, and how will the funds be used? Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has a responsibility to answer these questions,” Krishank said.He also questioned allotment of about 50 acres in Jawaharlnagar at a throwaway price Rs 25 lakh per acres while the market rate is much higher and there was no official order available for allotment.Ends/
