Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) demanded the state govt to protect eight acres of govt land worth Rs 500 crore in Bowenpally-Cantonment areas. BRS leader Krishank said a private firm erected blue sheets on the land over night. He asked the govt to disclose all records to the land and any permission granted and take steps to protect the land. Krishank asked the govt to construct 6,000 Indiramma Houses on the site as originally proposed and promised by the Congress govt.“In 2025, the Congress govt itself identified this very 8-acre parcel of land in Bowenpally-Cantonment for the construction of 6,000 Indiramma houses. At that time, the local MLA Ganesh submitted representations to ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Seethakka, requesting that the proposed housing project be taken up on this government land,” he said. However, the same land has reportedly been fenced overnight with blue-sheet barricades, and private individuals have taken possession of the property. If previous govt protected this valuable public asset, how has the present Congress govt allowed land that it officially recognized as government property barely a year ago to pass into private hands ?A comprehensive investigation must be ordered to determine how this land changed hands, identify those responsible, and ascertain whether there was any misuse of official authority. The state govt should go to till the Supreme Court to protect from the land, he said.Ends/
