Ludhiana: Two brothers were brutally attacked by a group of assailants in Sarinh village on Sunday evening, leaving one with a partially severed ear and the other with a fractured arm. Both victims, Harjit Singh and his brother Harpal Singh, are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.Harjit Singh, the complainant, said the incident took place at around 7.30pm, when the accused first assaulted Harpal outside their house. When Harjit intervened and pulled his brother away, the two rushed inside for safety. However, the assailants allegedly returned armed with weapons, forcibly entered the house and launched a violent attack on both brothers.Harjit said the same group had attacked Harpal during Diwali last year, and a police case had been filed at the time. Harpal’s arm was fractured after repeated blows.ASI Jarnail Singh, the investigating officer, said police have booked the accused — Shamshere Singh, Makhan Singh, Amrik Singh, Kala Singh, Jatinder Singh and Harjapreet Singh, all residents of Sarinh — under Sections 115(2), 118(1), 333, 191(3) and 190 of the BNS.
