New Delhi: Congress on Monday urged the government to convene an all-party meeting any day after the conclusion of the assembly elections on April 29 to discuss the women’s reservation law, including any amendments to the 2023 Act, and take it up in the monsoon session.
“Even today, we are saying that the government call an all-party meeting after 29th April, after elections, and place in writing the amendments (to the 2023 Act) and give the parties a couple of days to discuss them. You can take it up in the monsoon session, which you can advance if necessary,” party spokesman Jairam Ramesh said.
“This is what Rahulji, Priyankaji have already sought. Soniaji also said the same in her article,” he said, adding Congress supports implementation of women’s reservation from 2029.
