Kanpur: After three days of continuous rain and overcast skies, bright sunshine returned to Kanpur on Monday. The day began with partly cloudy conditions, but the clouds soon cleared.The maximum temperature rose by 5.3 degrees Celsius as compared to Sunday and was recorded at 31.1 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature remained at 20.2 degrees Celsius.According to the CSA weather observatory, maximum relative humidity was recorded at 84%, resulting in slightly sultry conditions. However, westerly winds blowing at a speed of 6.1 kmph provided some relief to residents.India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast partly cloudy conditions over the next three days, with the possibility of localised thunderstorms and strong winds. Periods of bright sunshine are also likely, and daytime temperatures may rise further.A CSA weather expert said cloud cover is expected to clear from Tuesday, bringing bright sunshine. Humid conditions may persist over the next few days, but humidity levels should gradually ease. Strengthening dry north-westerly winds are likely to provide further relief. The monsoon’s withdrawal is also expected to begin as low-pressure areas and related weather systems weaken.
