Srinagar, September 14 : Jammu and Kashmir is likely to experience a brief spell of rain and thundershowers at scattered to many places during the early morning and forenoon hours from September 14 to 17, according to the latest weather forecast.
The forecast suggests that the weather is expected to remain generally dry from September 18 to 25, with only brief spells of rain likely at isolated places. The weather pattern is expected to provide relatively favourable conditions for agricultural activities during the latter part of the period.
Authorities have, however, advised caution as thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds may occur at a few places between September 14 and 17.
For the farming community, the outlook remains encouraging, as apple and paddy harvesting can continue along with other routine farm operations, while farmers are advised to remain alert to sudden changes in weather during the next few days.
The expected improvement and relatively dry conditions after September 17 could provide farmers with a useful window to accelerate harvesting and other agricultural activities.
