Mandya: A 7-year-old boy who was bitten by a poisonous snake was admitted to the Mandya District Hospital for treatment after receiving first aid at the Maddur Govt Hospital. The incident occurred in D Hosahalli village of Maddur taluk on Sunday night.The injured child is the son of Sannayya, a resident of D Hosahalli village. According to sources, the boy was bitten by a venomous snake while he was outside his house. Family members immediately rushed him to the Maddur Govt Hospital, where doctors administered initial treatment and advised that he be shifted to the Mandya District Hospital for further medical care.However, the situation took a distressing turn when the govt ambulance transporting the child developed a mechanical fault and broke down near Gejjalagere on the Bengaluru-Mysuru National Highway. The unexpected breakdown left the boy’s anxious parents stranded on the roadside and heightened concerns about the child’s condition. With no immediate alternative transport available, valuable time was lost before assistance arrived. Eventually, a good Samaritan from Bengaluru who was travelling on the highway came to the family’s aid. The child was then shifted in the private vehicle and safely transported to the Mandya District Hospital, where he was admitted for further treatment. According to hospital sources, the boy is stated to be out of danger.
