Coimbatore: Two private schools in the city on Thursday morning received bomb threat emails, forcing the bomb detection and disposal squad to comb both the premises thoroughly. At the end of searches, the bomb squad declared them to be hoax bomb threat emails.

According to a police source, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, a private CBSE school at Vadavalli on Thondamuthur Road, and Chandrakanthi Public School at Peelamedu received the emails, warning that everyone be evacuated as explosives, including RDX, and cyanide gas were planted on the premises of the schools and could be detonated anytime.

After the searches that lasted for an hour, the bomb squad found nothing suspicious at either school, and declared the bomb threat emails to be hoaxes.
