Lucknow: A bomb threat note found inside the lavatory of an IndiGo flight at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (CCSIA), Lucknow, triggered a major security response on Friday, leading to the deboarding of passengers and a comprehensive search of the aircraft.The incident involved IndiGo flight 6E 2111 operating on the Ahmedabad–Lucknow–Delhi route. According to officials, boarding had been completed and the aircraft was preparing for departure to Delhi when cabin crew discovered a handwritten bomb threat on a tissue paper inside the lavatory at around 11.15am.Following standard aviation security protocol, a local standby was declared and all agencies concerned were alerted.The Bomb Threat Assessment Committee reviewed the input and classified it as “specific” at 11.47am. The aircraft was then moved to the isolation aircraft parking position, where passengers were safely deboarded and security agencies began detailed checks.Teams from the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, along with other security personnel, carried out a thorough search of the aircraft and screened passenger baggage in accordance with aviation security norms.The deboarding process was completed by around 12.34pm, after which security checks and inspection continued.Airport officials said all procedures were carried out as per prescribed guidelines.In a statement, IndiGo confirmed that a security concern was identified just before take-off. “Following established protocol, we informed the relevant authorities immediately and are fully cooperating with them in carrying out the necessary checks. The aircraft will operate to Delhi after receiving the required clearances,” the airline said.The airline added that efforts were being made to minimise inconvenience to passengers by providing refreshments and regular updates. “Safety and security of our customers, crew and aircraft remain our top priority,” it said.Further details from security agencies, including CISF, are awaited.
