Poonch, Aug 4 : The dead body of a woman was recovered on Tuesday from Mandi area of Poonch district, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Sarwara Begum, wife of Mukhtar Ahmad and a resident of Dana Gagdyan in Mandi area of Poonch district.
Officials told GNS that the family had informed police on Monday that Sarwara Begum had left home but did not return. Following this, police along with locals launched a search operation.
During the search, her body was recovered today from the area.
Police have taken cognizance of the matter and lodged an FIR. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of death, officials added.(GNS)
