Budgam, Sep 16: A dead body was found on the Ring Road near Dharmuna in the Budgam district of central Kashmir on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Arif Ahmad Bhat, son of the late Farooq Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Malgular Pati, Dharmuna.
According to officials, locals spotted the body lying on the roadside and alerted the police.
A police team rushed to the spot and took the body into custody.
The body has been sent for postmortem and other medico-legal formalities, they said.
A case has been registered in connection with the incident, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the death, officials added. (KNS)
