Kolkata: Residents of Salt Lake and Rajarhat Gopalpur can start paying their property taxes for 2026-27 after Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation opens its online portal on Monday. Taxpayers who failed to pay their due taxes for 2025-26 will be charged a 10% penalty and 10% interest payable against the arrear property tax. “Taxpayers can check the total amount by putting their building assessment number in the property tax section in the BMC website,” said a civic official. tnn
