Nagpur: Tension prevailed outside the Congress office at Chitnis Park in Mahal on Wednesday after Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Nagpur, staged a protest against Rahul Gandhi and the Congress over the party’s demonstration regarding the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi. The protest, led by BJYM Nagpur city chief Sachin Karare, witnessed sloganeering by workers of both political parties before police intervened and detained the protesters.BJYM leaders alleged that Rahul Gandhi and Congress workers had attempted to force their way into the Prime Minister’s residence during the protest in Delhi and described the incident as an act of “Urban Naxalism.” Addressing party workers, the leaders criticised the Congress and demanded accountability, following which protesters marched towards the Congress office, causing havoc.As BJYM workers reached the Congress office, Congress members assembled inside the premises and raised slogans against the BJP-led government, leading to a face-off between supporters of the two parties. According to police, BJYM workers attempted to breach the security barricades and enter the Congress office. Officers intervened, restrained the protesters and detained several workers.
