Nagpur: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has demanded immediate action against alleged illegal activities near the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY) housing complex located adjacent to Symbiosis Univeristy in Wathoda. The delegation, led by BJYM Nagpur president Sachin Karare, submitted a memorandum to the NMRDA commissioner highlighting concerns of local residents.As per BJYM, several illegal businesses are operating in and around the PMAY housing complex. The delegation also raised objections over functioning of a liquor outlet in one of the commercial units within the housing scheme. BJYM members questioned how permission was granted for liquor sales in close proximity to a residential settlement and a prominent educational institution. They expressed apprehension that presence of such establishments could negatively impact students and encourage substance abuse among youth. The organisation further demanded immediate removal of encroachments and strict action against erring officials. As per the organisation, the commissioner assured that necessary action would be initiated. Officials were instructed to look into the complaints.BJYM warned that if concrete action is not taken within six days, the organization would launch a major agitation.
