Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday claimed that BJP was likely to share 162 of UP’s 403 Assembly seats with its allies to keep the NDA intact in the state and alleged that move would come at a cost of the PDA (Pichhda, Dalit and Alpsankhyak) community.Akhilesh said the number of seats that the BJP was planning to offer to its allies was not proportional to the population of the state’s PDA community.“There is credible information that BJP is planning to set aside 73 seats for Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), 39 for Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), 31 for NISHAD party and 19 for Apna Dal (total 162 seats) to stop the allies from deserting the saffron brigade. On the face of it, the move may appear commendable but is destined to fail badly as it does not matches the ratio of PDA population in the state,” Akhilesh wrote on X.Akhilesh said inadequate representation of PDA was not the only factor that will add to the failure of BJP’s poll strategies but issues like donation theft at Ram Temple in Ayodhya, police crackdown on students and children protesting against paper leaks, rising unemployment will also impact the electoral fortunes of the BJP in 2027 Assembly polls.“People will vote against those who had orchestrated massive scams in education and examinations, against those who have destroyed health services and power sector and also those who have turned roads and other constructions into death traps,” he further wrote. The former UP CM said people of the state have not forgotten how new records have been set by the BJP in filing false criminal cases and how fake encounters have been staged. “Those who had ordered bulldozers action over people’s homes and shops, those who looked the other way as people died in police custody and those who are behind shutting of educational institutions right from the primary schools to universities will have to face people’s scrutiny during elections,” he said.He added that those who have done away with reservations in recruitments – be it the appointment of 69,000 teacher or professors and senior faculties at universities, those who conspired to change the Constitution will have to stand scrutiny before the people and the common man is eagerly waiting to bid farewell to such failures.Akhilesh went on to say the common man had been at the receiving end of these BJP failures and was waiting for a chance to return the favour.
