Varanasi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will launch a statewide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ on Sept 17, the birthday of Prime Minister and Varanasi MP Narendra Modi. The month-long campaign will conclude on Oct 17.BJP Kashi region president Ashok Chaurasia briefed party office-bearers on the outline of the proposed campaign at the regional office in Rohania.He said the programmes would be carried out at the booth, Shakti Kendra, mandal and gram panchayat levels.The campaign will begin with ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’, under which party workers will visit the homes of beneficiaries and light lamps. Painting and speech competitions on Modi’s 25-year public life and the theme of Viksit Bharat will also be organised in colleges.On Oct 2, street plays will be staged under the ‘Namo Seva Gatha’ programme. Under ‘Aangan Ka Utsav’, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers and mothers will be honoured.A ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ will be organised across villages and districts. In addition, 250 bike rallies each will be flagged off from Kashi and Vadnagar, along with Jalabhishek and public interaction programmes.At the assembly constituency level, 25 service-oriented activities will be identified. Under the ‘Seva Setu’ programme, camps will be organised to connect eligible beneficiaries with government welfare schemes.
