Mandya: As the Congress-led state govt marked 1,000 days in office under chief minister Siddaramaiah, BJP workers in Mandya staged a symbolic protest at Mahaveer Circle. They criticised the administration of the Congress govt.Holding placards that read “1,000 Days, 1,000 Problems,” the protesters displayed the posters on empty boxes to portray what they described as the state’s deteriorating condition. In a gesture meant to convey public dissatisfaction, agitators placed flowers behind their ears and carried empty pots and coconut shells, symbolising what they alleged was an “empty treasury” and a lack of tangible development. The BJP functionaries accused the govt of failing to deliver on its promises despite completing 1,000 days in power. They claimed that development works had stalled and raised concern over the state’s financial management. The protest drew public attention at the busy junction. Party functionaries reiterated their demand for what they termed a more accountable and development-oriented administration.
