Mysuru: BJP supporters on Thursday took out a mock funeral procession in Mysuru, accusing the state govt of pushing Karnataka into financial distress and demanding the release of a white paper on the state’s finances.The protesters marched from Ramaswamy Circle, raising slogans of “Govinda Govinda” against the govt and accusing it of financial mismanagement. They claimed the state treasury had been depleted due to fiscal indiscipline, leaving the govt without funds to release pensions or undertake drought-relief measures.The BJP leaders also alleged that the govt had diverted funds meant for the Gruhalakshmi scheme. They claimed that, under the pretext of verifying beneficiary details, the govt had not released the monthly incentive to women beneficiaries for the past three months.The protesters further questioned the govt’s financial priorities, stating that despite the alleged shortage of funds, CM DK Shivakumar had announced the release of Rs 32,000 crore for development works in the coastal districts.
