Mysuru: Krishnaraja MLA TS Srivatsa criticised Congress’ Sadhana Samavesha held in the city on Saturday, alleging it was a “power show” organised under the guise of a govt event.Speaking to reporters here on Monday, he accused the Congress of breaching protocol and misusing taxpayer money for political gains. He said that BJP is ready for an open public debate on development. The BJP MLA said that the invitation for the event, organised in the name of the state govt, failed to mention former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, a Rajya Sabha MP, while including AICC general secretary in-charge of Karnataka Randeep Surjewala’s name. He also noted that other than Union minister HD Kumaraswamy’s name, other central ministers’ names were omitted, calling it a deliberate oversight. He highlighted central govt contributions to Mysuru, including Rs 2,627 crore for national highway projects, funding for railway underpasses, Rs 1,393 crore under the Jal Jeevan Mission, and over Rs 10,000 crore under the Mudra Yojana, benefiting 5,38,000 people in the district. He challenged the Congress to a public debate, asserting that they falsely claimed the Centre provided no funds to Mysuru.
