Prayagraj: With an eye on women voters ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, the BJP’s state unit has assigned key organisational responsibilities to several women leaders from Prayagraj across its various wings.Pooja Bind of Naini and Jaya Pal of Sulemsarai have been appointed state secretaries in the BJP’s OBC Morcha, while city resident Anita Singh, a former member of the State Women’s Commission, has been named state general secretary of the Mahila Morcha.Pooja Bind has actively participated in the party’s provincial council and various organisational campaigns.Jaya Pal, widow of advocate Umesh Pal, who was killed by members of the Atiq Ahmad gang near his residence in Dhoomanganj in Feb 2023, has also played an active role in the party organisation over the past several months.Anita Singh has previously served as a member of the State Women’s Commission and as Kashi Prant president of the Mahila Morcha.“I will discharge the responsibilities entrusted to me by the party with complete honesty and dedication,” Singh said.BJP spokesperson Vivek Mishra told TOI that the appointment of the new office-bearers would strengthen the party’s organisational structure and enhance its outreach efforts in the field.
